CNY in Ipoh

Ok, February is not a good month for me to blog as I have just been too busy to sit down and blog. And when I do have that time, I don't even want to look at a computer screen... nuff of my ranting, but thank you all for constantly checking back to see if there are new posts.

Aight, so CNY came and went (technically not yet as it is 15 days). As I said previously, I went back to Ipoh to visit family and friends. I must admit, I felt most excited when going back to Ipoh this time as I have a hit song 'bout my hometown. I went back on the 1st day thinking I could avoid the ridiculous jam which I will encounter if I went back the day before (CNY eve equals crazy jams at the highways).

Boy, I was wrong. See, the normal time from KL to Ipoh via highway is about 2 hours if you drive the regulated 110 km per hour. It took me 4 hours and there was also a bumper to bumper jam halfway. Crazy.

We (my boo and parents) reached eventually in mid afternoon, and seeing my old hood Ipoh Garden East after rapping about it seems kinda different. Maybe I was just believing' my own hype but it felt good. We stayed at my grandma's crib and had to bunk in the hall for 3 nights but it felt good being close around family.

The usual CNY family dinners ensued and the predictable visiting and ang pow collecting rituals commenced. I was freakin' out watching myself eat all the great food cos' I can’t be fat as the music video shoot for Ipohmali is coming soon.

Speaking about the video, I was also back to scout and rec locations for the video. That lead me to even going back to my old crib to ask the current landlord permission to shoot some scenes there.

All in all, going back to my hometown and spending Chinese New Year with family was great. Plus I had some time to kick back at last and ate my favourite Ipoh chee cheong fun too:) Now let’s see them pics. Holla!

The jam on the way home

The view of my hood when coming home from the highway. Ipoh Garden Eastside peeps will recognize the hills:)

Some pics in my grandma's crib. The b&w pics are my late great grandparents and the colour one is my late grandfather. May they rest in peace.

The infamous "Eng Hua Min Sin". This is the traditional dish the Ong clan eats every 1st day of Chinese New Year. We have been doing it for generations.

Old heritage buildings still found in Ipoh...old skool!

Year of the Pig cookies! Had to take this pic as this was different from your usual kuih kapit, jam tarts..etc, tasted good too.

First Yee Sang for '07!

Second Yee Sang for '07! Thats mah' grandma in the background. The most generous and caring woman I know:)

I know this may look gross, but it is actually the very good Ipoh chee cheong fun all mixed up! I love this! More thim cheong and lat chew!

Cruisin' down the hood with my fitted on the dashboard. No, this ain't LA, this is Ipoh Garden Eastsyde babyyyy!

Going home:) "Don't get me wrong yo, I'm KL lite now its just that my roots stay strong"-Ipohmali

Happy Chinese New Year Y'all

Oink! Oink! Its that time of the year again when Chinese people spend too much money:) Anyways, I must admit that this is one of my best CNY. At last some things are happening after the past 2 years or grinding and struggle.

It is said that this year is a good year for the goat (that's me) and that all will be well for me in terms of prosperity, luck etc...I hope its all true, as I sure can get some help from the Stars and Moons;) Personally, I'm not really superstitious and don't believe in Zodiacs and all. I believe my life and destiny is in God and my own hands. You make your own destiny. I for one ain't the type who sit around idly and wait for luck to drop on me and become successful. I have been getting my own all my life.

And for that, sometimes I envy lucky lazy people, silver spoon born brats who still whine and complain...but sigh, I guess thats a part of negativity in me I got to lose.

Yay, I'll be going back to Ipoh on the first day of CNY to visit my grandmas, family and friends. Its been ages since I got back and now that I have a blog, I'll take loads of pics and show y'all how my trip and CNY went:)

Another great thing that happened that made my day recently is the fact that I finally got the one piece of clothing I've fiended for so long but could never splash out that amount of cash for it. Peeps close to me will know that I'm not a hardcore BAPE fan like Goldfish or others but have always liked their camo parka line. Call me stingy or old fashioned but spendin'thoudsands on ONE piece of clothing is just too crazy for this Ipoh boi;)

Thanks to my self made highly successful sister, she copped it for me as part of a CNY/video wardrobe arrangement. I gotta admit, my sister is one of the most focused and successful people I know in this world. She is 7 years older and when we were growing up, she felt our poverty the worst (as she was a teen). But just as I did, she overcame all her adversities and worked so hard that today she is one of the top unit trust financial consultant/manager in the country.

And she amassed her wealth through sheer hardwork and focus all the while keeping God close by. She wasn't as lucky as me and got a break to be a rap star but instead put herself through college and degrees overseas, worked ground up until today she is
much richer and sucessful than I am. She travels the world constantly yet still is very Ipohmali grounded and the same person I knew all my life. So sis (Hazel Ong), this may sound like I'm kissin' your ass 'cos you copped me my parka, but you truly deserve the props and the world should know:)

For those wanting to invest for the future and want some financial consulting, please email: synergyhaven@myjaring.net or checkout synergyhaven.blogspot.com
and tell them Point sent y'all there:)

I guess CNY is all about family and relationships, thats why I'm writing so much about my sis in this supposedly CNY wishing post:)

So here goes..to all celebrating CNY, Gong Hei Fhat Choi and may this babi year bring y'all good luck, health and prosperity. To those travelling, drive safe and be patient on the road. To those from Ipoh, I'll be back for a couple of days so say hi if you see me in the streets:) Now bring on the pics!

Let Yo’ Air Force Shine (Don’t scuf mine)

(Yo lets do this, Ay Yo)
It all started back in ’82 in NYC/ Young cats rockin’ Air Ones taggin’ graffiti/
In them b-ball courts, its your hottest property/
Back then if you don’t own a pair, you live in misery/
Now let me take you through a lil’ sneaker history/
On the feet of legend Moses Malone you see/
Next time you drop by a Nike store/ You think of Bruce Kilgore/
The man made the kicks that you keep lustin’ for/
In the 90’s Jay Z brought it back again/
In the streets it was cool to rock Airs again/
Vintage Air Force Ones started to cost like a bottle of Crist champagne
I can’t complain that/ The whole world caught fire/
Uptowns is the ultimate sneaker of your desire/
So to all my Air Force heads its time to shine/
Throw your Uptowns in the air/ cos’ I got mine

Chorus
Sneakerheads around the world take out your toothbrushes/
Clean yo’ kicks, keep ‘em fresh, nobody touches/
Let yo’ Air Force shine, yo’ Air Force shine, yo’ Air Force shine/
Just don’t scuf mine
Sneakerheads around the world take out your toothbrushes/
Clean yo’ kicks, keep ‘em fresh, nobody touches/
Let yo’ Air Force shine, yo’ Air Force shine, yo’ Air Force shine/
Just don’t scuf mine

25 years to the present/ 2007/ sneakerheads campin’ out for 24-7/
Like 7 Eleven/ All for the sake of coppin’ a size 11/
Cos’ ownin’ quickstrikes is heaven/
From New York Harlem uptown to Damansara Uptown/
All I see is kids rockin; Uptowns/
And I got mah’ pairs too/ You can’t see me movin’ through/
Rockin’ Invisibles in blue/
And I don’t feel that monkey copy with a star on it/ Its flashy/
But sometimes them kicks don’t fit/
I like my Airs legit/ them bootlegs in Chinatown is shit/
So if you rockin’ those I suggest you quit/Yo/
Cos’ this yo’ boy Point/ and I rock the illest pairs/
Mah white on whites so fresh I get stares/
Ebay addict/ we all at it/ I represent KL Air Force cats and that’s it/

Chorus 1x

Bridge
We got ten pairs
Them classic white on whites/ and them black on blacks/ you gotta get em’ too
We got fiddy pairs
Them seasonal Valentines/ Chinese New Year Zodiac signs/
We got a hundred pairs
Quickestrikes/ uh/ Hyperstrikes/ No GR, that ain’t my type/
We got a thousand pairs
Sneaker addict bona fide/ I copped Jay’s 40/40 on the side/

Chorus 2x

Outro (adlib)
Woo/This song’s dedicated to all sneakerheads in the world/
Especially my streething homies/ Choo Ee, Kzzit, Mini,
Y’all know who you are/
Yo we reppin’ Air Force Ones till’ we die/
Uptowns 25th anniversary/
Voyeur Records/ DJ Nesh/ Major R.E. and Point Blanc

Point Blanc singles as Caller Ringtones

For those who called my handpohne recently will hear my 2 singles randomly playing instead of the usual toot, toot. Thats right folks, Ipohmali and KL Lheng Chai are now available to be purchased as caller ringtones by the 3 major telcos.

From what I gather, Celcom ( my telco) seems most user friendly at the moment. I was told that Maxis is revamping their site and Digi's site is just hard to navigate. However, please check back regularly with your telco's website and follow their steps to get the call back tunes. Just try searching for the songs using the song titles or my name. I took the effort to post up the links here. Hopefully interested buyers will take the extra effort and follow the steps to buy the tunes. Here there are:

Celcom

Maxis

Digi

Please show your support and buy those tunes if you like my music so I can continue makin' more hot beats;)thank y'all in advance. Peace.

Out and about

Ok, February is the month I've not been so hard at work blogging. That's because I've been out and about hustlin' and networkin'. So here is my post on what I've been up to lately.

Recently I was at Laundry bar at the Curve, Damansara to catch a special performance by this NY based underground hip hop group called Voices of America. It was a 3 piece hip hop group consisting an emcee, a DJ and a female vocalist. The emcee was the one that stood out most and he was also a solo hip hop underground artiste who goes by the name of Chris Rel. Checkout his music here .I found out later that Chris used to go to school with famous hip hop artiste Saigon (so he claims). For those who are not familiar with Saigon, he is the rapper character under Turtle in HBO's Entourage series. Hip hop cats will know that he is signed by superstar producer Just Blaze under his Baseline Records.

So here I was, excited by the fact that I was 2-3rd degrees of separation from Just Blaze! I passed both Chris and his DJ my single so they could checkout what Malaysian hip hop is like. In the end, Voices of America and Chris Rel seemed kinda down to earth and real and they are really good too. Chris , if you reading this, holla at yo' boy back in NYC:)As usual, the whole usual gang at Laundry was present and DJ Nesh ( one of the best local hip hop/R&B DJ to me) rocked the crowd and we all had a blast.

Another thing that happened that’s kinda funny to mention is that I was invited to give a talk to some youths in Sunday school recently. I mean I'm no role model nor a holy type of guy but I agreed to do it because I thought it was about time I did something for the MAN above in return for all the blessings he gave me. I had to get up really early to make it (after a late night out at Laundry) and luckily I did. Half asleep and a lil' grumpy I managed to give an alrite testimonial to the teens there about the miracles of God in my life. I also managed to be all holier than thou:P and advised them to appreciate the good things in their life and that you can never be too cool for God. I am living proof of that. Special thanks go out to everyone involved at the CKK Subang Catholic Church and Sunday school for having me there. I’m looking forward to giving back to the youths and community. Gotta' balance out all my other sins and bad deeds youknowwhatimsayin?lol

Anyways, that pretty much what I've been up to besides work these few days. Nuff' said, bring on the pics courtesy of my new phone.

I lost my phone!

After 3 years of using my trusty old skool Sony Ericsson T610,(When I bought it, it was THE shit) I lost it! I must confess, I have never lost my handphone before in my life and this is my first time I ever lost anything of this importance. My gf laughed her ass off cos' she is supposed to be the "careless" one but she never lost a phone ever.

My bad. I dropped it somewhere in the Curve. What pains me most is the contacts and numbers that I lost along with it. The phone has been replaced but my contacts and numbers have not. So here is to everyone out there reading this who has got my number, PLEASE SMS ME YOUR NUMBERS( Along with who you are) NOW IF YOU ARE READING THIS! Thank you:)
