AF1 Party Day 4:- The Hitz.fm Party

The final day! This was the party that had the most promo as it was advertised on Hitz.fm everyday prior to the event. The reason? Hitz.fm played host to this final day party.

I must admit, I was a bit surprised at the crowd turnout considering the amount of promo and hype for this event. I think it is because of the over 21 admission rule that put a lot of listeners off. Nevertherless, the people at Hitz.fm did a good job and the party went well.

Popular radio DJs Ian, Brian and Adam C played the emcee bit while other newcomers such as Azura was spotted there. They had lots of "interesting" games to say the least and the crowd enjoyed themselves while winning lots of cool prizes.

The performers for the night were Samir, Joe FLizzow and yours truly. Samir went on first and did a good energetic show that also featured VE superstar Damien Shorty Soul. I stepped up next and felt that I did my best show as compared to the 2 other nights. Well, I guess 3 time's the charm:) I felt the crowd was waiting to hear Ipohmali live considering the good amount of airplay on the station recently. They were very supportive and were a great crowd to perform for. My 2 boys Schizzow and Uncle REAL did very good too and you guys will be seeing them a lot more soon in my future live shows. Joe took the stage last and did a good show too.

At the end of the night, I felt so relieved that the four days were finally over. But I also felt so happy and fulfilled as a sneakerhead and emcee to be involved in this great events. It certainly is a dream come true considering the Air Force One has always been my favourite sneaker. To have been involved in the 25th anniversary for the shoe in such a big way is a real honour.

Special thanks go out to everyone at Nike Malaysia especially Alison for believing in me and supporting the Point Blanc and Voyeur Records brand, my brothers at streething for makin' all this happen, my Voyeur Records team for takin' care of bidness, Hitz.fm for promoting the event and my songs prior to the event, all my fans and friends for their support and to anyone I forgot to thank, you know who you are:) Now bring on the pics..Phew....

AF1 Party Day 3:- The Streething Party

Aight, it was day 3 and the one I was looking forward most to personally. This was the TRUE sneaker party as local sneakerhead community streething played host! I AM one of the streethingers period. Although I haven't been posting on the forum as regularly as before due to the current influx of work, I am proud to belong and represent this awesome buch of people.

The party started a bit late but by the end of the night, it was packed with eager sneakerheads socialising. The DJs of the night were Blink and Goldfish spinning cool hip hop tunes and some retro 70's funk. The party had a custom kicks showcase, live installation of some grafitti work ( done with markers courtesy of Killer Gerbil) and we even saw the winners of the LUX AF1s too.

I met lots of familiar faces and some new ones too. Big ups to the Singaporean sneakerheads as they were very cool and supportive. As for my own show set, I did the same 3 songs as before but added an additional beatbox freestyle with Wordsmanifest. We were the only performers of the night and the crowd was awesome!
They were very responsive and moved up front and I even got them to throw their kicks up in the air(ala Run DMC). Personally it wasn't my best show cos' I kinda messed up a few parts but the crowd kept my spirits high. So thank you fellow streethingers and sneakerheads for showin yo' boy some love!

In the end it was an awesome party! Special thanks go out to the founder of ST(and my good friend) Kzzit aka Choo Eee and his crew for putting so much effort in making the night a great one. You guys deserve all the props for elevating the local sneaker game. Streething fo' life baby! Enough of ramblin', pictures tell a thousand words:-

AF1 Party Day 2:- The Juice mag Party

So the second day for me was more chilled. It was the day I did not have to perform or "work". I had time to look at the kicks displayed and be the "sneakerhead" that I was and enjoyed the event. It was a cool party courtesy of Juice mag. Performance for the night was underground cats The Rebel Scum. I must admit this was the first time I saw their live show and they rocked. Very good live show emcees. Big ups to Wan aka Wordsmanifest, leader of TRS as he even spit in Malay. Good stuff.

Here are some of the pics I snapped while hangin' around. Special thanks to April from Juice for the cool party.AF1 Day 3 nextup.peace.

Point @ the Air Force One 25 th Anniversary party!

Alrite guys, this was the moment I was looking forward to for the past few weeks. My first live show in a year. This was the moment of truth. The premier of my singles performed live and the unvieling of my AF1 song. Plus it was the Bday party of my favourite sneaker ever. A dream come true moment.

Almost turned into a nightmare though. Almost. 24 hours exactly before I performed on stage at 9pm, I was DEAD sick. I had a killer combo of food poisoning, high fever and flu. I was so sick I couldn't open my eyes, walk or talk. And I had to be the Ipohmali rap star the next day. I was panicking and breaking down mentally. Physically I was broken down. I optioned to go the doctor to get a jab but then realised that if I went to the doc he would put me on antibiotics and some strength draining drugs. And he would have asked me to rest for at least a day. I didn't have that luxury. So I decided to fight this on my own will, prayers and the force.lol. I haven't asked God for anything for a long time and this time I cashed in my coupon and prayed for a miracle. I needed one badly. Cancelling the show was not an option. This was not some other show. This was THE show.

In true Point Blanc fashion, God took care of me and with sheer will and determination, and LOTS of Panadol and Vitamin Cs ( and Poh Chai Yins) I broke the fever and held the flu. Big ups to my most loving parents for taking time to nurse me back to health. I love you Mum and Dad. I wasn't 100% but at least I could walk and talk with some ease. Good enogh condition for me to try to rock the mic.

The night was great. It was what it was, the 25th anniversary party for Air Force One. Nike and Streething did an awesome job. I met lots of peeps I knew from the scene and many more. I performed KL Lheng Chai, Let Yo' Air Force Shine and Ipohmali. The crowd was supportive but were a bit uptight cos' this was the "superstar" coorporate party. Everyone was "maintaining" a bit. So not much hands up in the air. But they were cool. Big ups to my hypemen Schizzow and Uncle Real holdin' it down. I gotta admit, Uncle REAL blew me away. This was his first ever show. Mounted with pressure he came through good and better than I expected. You the man Seng!

The night proceeded to some real hip hop tunes courtesy of DJ Nesh and I chilled with Yogi B and co. When the Boombox and Voyeur crew get together we are legion baby:)Everyone had fun and I was most happy that everything went well. Here's to the 3 other parties:) For those who don't know, I'm performing for the Streething and Hitz one both on Sat and Sun. Catch me there if you got them invites:) Without further due, here the pics from the hottest party of '07 so far:) AIR FORCE ONES BAYBAYYYYY!!!

Special thanks go out to Alison from Nike, Choo Ee and Edwin of streething.com, my Voyeur Records team especially my manager Bie for holdin it down, my hypemen Schizzow and Uncle REAl, Major RE, my publicist supergal Tasha and all my my friends and fans. And my mum and dad for being there when I needed them:) If you think thats cheesy, then screw you :P

Point Blanc at The Breakfast Show

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of posts, I've been sick for the past few days. Only managed to get myself barely fit for my show yesterday. Anyways, last Tuesday (23rd Jan) I was invited to get on NTV7's The Breakfast Show to talk about my singles and upcoming album. It was live on television and freakin early in the morning too. Not a cool thing for an imsomniac nocturnal creature like me. Nevertheless, work is work, and we( me and my manager , Bie) left for Shah Alam Glenmarie( NTV7's HQ) at 7 am.

It was a very last minute thing as I only got to know about me getting on it the night before so I did not have time to blog and tell everyone to wake up and watch it(like y'all will tho'). The people at NTV7 were great and very supportive. I got interviewed by the famous comedian Rashid Salleh and hunky Ben Ibrahim.

I must admit I was a bit nervous at first as it was my first live television interview in years plus this time I'm doing it solo. Can't afford no f**kups! But in the end it went well. I'll try to get the digital footage fo the interview to be posted up soon so y'all can catch it:) In the meantime here are some pics from the show:)

Special thanks go out to the whole Breakfast Show crew especially Sheila Ningkan, producer Intan, host Rashid Salleh and Ben Ibrahim. My beloved publicist Tasha for hooking the show up and my manager Bie who incidently was the birthday boy on that day.

Rashid doing a rap impersonation, some BAPE moves...

And then invitin' me for a punchup cos' he knows I'll wax him on the mic..lol, just playin' Rashid:)

Hey kids, this is how TVland REALLY looks like:)

Ipohmali debut at No. 10 at MET 10 charts

Yesterday (21 Jan 07) Ipohmali made its way to the Malaysian English Top 10 charts on Hitz.fm. It debuted at No . 10. To all that have been reading the blog, you know what comes next:) Me urging fellow fans, friends, and family to vote and make the song the No.1 song on the charts:) If not for votes, it will fall out as fast as it went in....

Check it out and vote for it here:
http://www.hitz.fm/05/charts/mytop10/

I know that signing up for the epass is kind of a draggy process, but you have to only go through it once. After that it will be a breeze to return and vote. And this epass applies to all of ASTRO's group of radio stations. So in the future it is easy for y'all to vote for my other songs in say, My FM?

To those that have voted constantly, I thank you sincerely. It does seem like the votes are paying off as the song is being played on Hitz.fm. I hope the song will get on high rotation like how Fergie's Fergilicious is. Everytime I turn on Hitz I hear that song. Lets hope we make Ipohmali the song you hear everytime you turn on Malaysian radio:)

I know these past few posts have been me rambling about voting. Truth is, I really need all the support I can get. Hitz.fm has showed that they like the song. Now it is for all y'all to proof that they were right in playing the song. Ipohmali baby, KL Lheng Chais support alsolar:) Take care and God bless!!!
